Employee Id Badge Systems: TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENTS AND NEWS SNIPPETS
You cannot blame technology for outrunning you every now and then in every sphere.
Predictably technology has not spared the field of employee ID badges too.
Gone are the days of those crumply ledgers and registers with carefully lined columns, which used to read Name, Date, Times, Purpose, Signature etc. Visitor management has reached a whole new level of sophistication.
Thanks to technological progress made in the field of employee ID badges making which has really revolutionized the entire system keeping in tune with the troubled times, which have made ‘safety’ and ‘security’ the buzzwords of our times.
The concept of a badge or a nametag, although has changed drastically over the years, the basic essence however has remained the same. So while you no longer have a tacky plastic jacket covering a small piece of paper with your name printed on it with a dot matrix printer you have several top of the line employee ID badges making techniques say for example the self expiring badges, which are a great way to control visitor access.
The technology is simple enough.
You get two sheets in the kit, which comes along when you order these self-expiring badges. What you need to do is stick the front end of the printed sheet down onto the other sheet, which has also been provided. This triggers the self-expiring badge into activation.
The trick is that the background sheet has set of stripes, which gets activated gradually over a pre-defined block of time. So if you have pinned these badges on a guest or say a trainee whose authorized visit at the workplace is to last only for one day, the security person after noting the changed color of the stripes on the badge, can easily identify the person as one who has overstayed his welcome.
